Mrs Jean Hopkins (nee Bates), of Denton, Manchester passed away on Monday, January,7th 2019 at the age of 72.

Jean was born to parents Alf and Frances Bates on December 31st, 1946, in Macclesfield. She spent her life in Denton, and on 16th August 1979 she married William Hopkins.

Husband, William Hopkins, her sons Martin and Liam Hopkins, and her four grandchildren Art, Chloe, Estella and Dougie Hopkins all treasure their memories of her. 

Jean spent her life totally devoted to her family – caring for both her parents before their passing, Her childhood was spent tending to her horses and dancing. She danced to a very high standard, achieving numerous dance awards and accreditations over the years. 

She was known for her caring and selfless manner, she was a strong, dignified, proud and good-humoured lady. Her strength of character, integrity and humility will be deeply missed by all that had the good fortune to know her. 

Jean’s service was held at Dukinfield Crematorium on 25th January 2019 at 1pm by Reverend Philip Meadows.
